Blepharoplasty Tunisia: For whom?

The blepharoplasty Tunisia is eyelid surgery. This is the key intervention for eye rejuvenation. Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is indicated when there is excess skin and muscle and/or pockets of fat (fat hernias) on the eyelids that make the eyes look heavier. Blepharoplasty can involve the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or all four eyelids.

The goal of blepharoplasty is to give the eyes a less heavy and tired appearance, while retaining their natural expression.

Blepharoplasty: Intervention

Upper blepharoplasty

For the upper eyelids, the skin incisions are generally hidden in the furrow located halfway up the eyelid, in a natural crease. The surgeon removes the excess skin and removes the fat to remove the heavy and drooping appearance of the eyelids.

Lower blepharoplasty

For lower eyelid blepharoplasty, the incisions are placed 1 to 2mm below the eyelashes and can extend a little further out. We then proceed to resection the fatty pockets and then remove the excess skin. But in certain situations, the surgeon can also choose conjunctival blepharoplasty which allows the incision to be hidden inside the eye, at the level of the conjunctiva. No scar is visible with this method.

Blepharoplasty: The scars

Scars from lower blepharoplasty, in the case of a fatty pocket without excess skin, lower eyelid blepharoplasty leaves no visible scar. In fact, the removal of pockets of fat is done through the conjunctiva. We are talking about conjunctival blepharoplasty. No mark is therefore made on the skin.

On the other hand, if there is excess skin, blepharoplasty of the lower eyelids is accompanied by scars at the level of the eyelashes, and hidden on the sides in an oblique wrinkle (crow's pate wrinkle). The scars from upper blepharoplasty are hidden in the eyelid crease located in the middle of the upper eyelid, and extend on the sides towards the eyebrow, remaining hidden in an oblique wrinkle (crow's pate wrinkle).

Blepharoplasty: Post-operation

The aftermath of the operation can be painful the first few days. Ice compresses are placed for a few hours, helping to limit the development of eyelid edema. An analgesic treatment will be prescribed for a few days.

The first dressings are removed after 24 hours.

  • The pain of blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is moderate and calmed, when it exists, by simple analgesics.
  • Makeup is allowed after one week.
  • Return to work can be done 1 week after the procedure, knowing that frequent bruising fades between 7 and 15 days. Edema (swelling) is common and can last between a few days and sometimes several weeks. These parameters vary from patient to patient.

Eyelid surgery Tunisia: Results

The scars are almost invisible. It is after a period of 3 to 6 months that we can appreciate the results. This is the time necessary for the tissues to regain all their suppleness and for the scars to fade. The eyes will have a more natural appearance, with a wide look that will last for ten years.
