Dr Aziz Sumer is a very popular specialist professor of general laparoscopic surgery, bariatric and endocrine obesity surgery and ranked among the best surgeons in Turkey, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Mediterranean in 1997.
He completed his specialization in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Morbid Obesity Surgery (Weight loss Surgery) from Haydarpasa Numune Training and Research Hospital, in 2010.
He has participated in numerous training courses conducted around the world, including the IRCAD-EITS Da-Vinci Surgical System Off-Site training program in France. Dr. Sumer has over 25 years of experience in his field. He received the title of associate professor in 2012, followed by the title of professor of general surgery in 2017.
He also completed his subspecialty program in Organ Transplantation (Kidney) at Acibadem University, Faculty of Medicine in 2013.
He is the author of more than 80 articles, which have been cited and translated in more than 100 national and international journals.
He has extensive experience in performing metabolic surgeries such as gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy, as well as more complex procedures such as laparoscopic splenectomy and subtotal pancreatectomy, liver resection and laparoscopic surgeries of the large intestine, rectum and stomach.
